Keep the weekend of November 24th to 26th open for our upcoming annual fall workshop. This year our presenter will be Don Komarechka of Barrie, Ontario. “Vision Beyond Seeing” will explore creative out-side-the-box topics related to how we see the world differently from our cameras. Arrangements still are being finalized, so stay tuned for details and registration information. As usual, assistance from the Yukon Arts Fund will help keep this workshop very affordable.
We kick off the 2017/2018 season with our first “presenter” meeting on September 13th at 7PM in room 2204 at Yukon College. Note that this is a Wednesday and this will be our regular day of the week for meetings this season. Lois Moore and Maggie Leary will provide a presentation on their trip to Keno in July, which Maggie organized as a field trip open to all club members. Also, information will be presented on how to critique photographs. Everyone is welcome.
Our first assignment meeting will follow on September 27th, same time and venue. The topic will be “Best of Summer 2017”. Show us what has been inspiring you photographically since we last met in May, and seek feedback from other members.

Hey everyone! The Whitehorse Photography Club will be holding their Annual General Meeting on Tuesday April 4, 2017 at 7PM in Yukon College (Rm A2202). New ideas are the lifeblood of any social club, but equally important are those people willing to put the ideas into action. Proficiency at photography is not a requirement, but creativity and passion are! We look forward to meeting you on April 4.
The Club was pleased to welcome author Lily Gontard and photographer Mark Kelly on February 7th, 2017, where they spoke about the awesome power of collaboration. What started out as Mark’s interest in abandoned road houses had developed into a sizeable collection of photographs, but what to do next?. The answer involved pitching the idea to author Lily, who agreed to write the copy; and then through the power of relationships, the end product developed into the book Beyond Mile 0: The Vanishing Alaska Highway Lodge Community.
