Walter Gutowski

Bio – I first got into photography in the early 70s with a Nikkormat FTN, while working in Yukon as a College student from Saskatchewan. For the next few years, I did my own BW developing and some Cibachrome as well. After moving permanently back in the late 70s, life caught up to me and everything slowed down – still snapping family/scrapbook type shots with my wife Janet and our family. I am now retired (Civil Engineer) and thought I would get back into photography as a more serious hobby. I purchased a Nikon D80, joined the Whitehorse Photography Club, took a Photoshop beginner course, bought a 24″iMac, Epson R2880 printer, and play (not well) with PS CS3 and LR4. My lenses are Nikkor 18-70 (3.5-4.5), Nikkor 70-300VR (4.5-5.6), Nikkor 50 (1.8), Nikkor 35 (1.8), and Sigma 18-200 OS (3.5-6.3). I have a close-up converter with Macro (0.5x) – rarely used, a SB600 Speedlight and a Vanguard 264AT tripod, a monopod and SBH-100 and 250 ballheads. I also have a small scanner and hope to scan many of my old slides – when I get time. That’s about it….

UPDATE – I have recently added to my collection the Nikon D7100, Nikkor 300mm f/4 AF-S, Kenko 1.4X TC Teleplus Pro 300,  a Nikkor 2.0X TC II and an older Nikkor 105mm f/2.8 macro. I have also upgraded to a 27″iMac, CS6 and LR6 (not ready for the cloud just yet).
