You may have noticed the lack of recent posts on this page. That is because the Whitehorse Photography Club has been largely inactive for the past year. With a very small current membership and a bare bones executive committee we have not been in a position to hold regular meetings or programming. However, we are maintaining our infrastructure and meeting less formally on occasion. In early May we gathered for a field outing, photographing birds in the McIntyre Creek area.
On May 30th we held our Annual General Meeting, followed by a slide show of recent member images, including ones from the McIntyre Creek outing. Unfortunately, we were unable to attract any new blood, so we will continue meeting on that occasional, less formal basis through the coming year. Our focus will be on field outings and we will endeavour to do more of these, though we will be relying on individual members to take the lead at initiating and overseeing these activities. We also anticipate having more slide shows where members can view and learn from each other’s work, and also more social get-togethers.
At the AGM we decided that, given our limited capacity to provide programming, memberships will be free for the upcoming 2026-27 membership year, but they will be required for participation in our activities.
