A new season of the Whitehorse Photography Club is about to begin. The executive will be meeting on Sept 8th to flesh out plans, and activities may begin as early as this following week. Members from the 2023-24 season should receive an email notification. Otherwise, check this site early next week for news, or you can email info@whitehorsephotoclub.ca for information about our club or to get added to our mailing list.
Meanwhile, as a teaser for the upcoming season, here is a gallery of a small selection of members’ images from last season’s club outings and “assignments”. Topics, some of which were preceded by instructional sessions at our regular meetings, included: Summer of ’23; a club photo walk in downtown Whitehorse, focusing on graffiti, murals and old buildings; intentional camera movement (ICM), including an outing in the Hidden Valley school area; “winter is here”; member photos submitted for feedback from acclaimed local pro photographer Peter Mather; low light photography, including an evening group shoot on the grounds around Yukon University; “power of one”; diptych/triptych; “it’s a small world after all”; and bird photography, including an outing to the Yukon Wildlife Preserve coordinated with the bird club.
