MARCH 2017 Assignment: FESTIVALS
Thanks to Lily Gontard and Mark Kelly!
The Club was pleased to welcome author Lily Gontard and photographer Mark Kelly on February 7th, 2017, where they spoke about the awesome power of collaboration. What started out as Mark’s interest in abandoned road houses had developed into a sizeable collection of photographs, but what to do next?. The answer involved pitching the idea to author Lily, who agreed to write the copy; and then through the power of relationships, the end product developed into the book Beyond Mile 0: The Vanishing Alaska Highway Lodge Community.
The book release party is scheduled for April 7 at Baked Cafe & Bakery in Whitehorse, Yukon as part of the 1st annual First Light Image Festival.

Celebration of Nature 2016 Selections!
On Sunday, November 6 the Club met in order to select our submissions to the Celebration of Nature Photography 2016 competition. The quality of images brought to the meeting was very high, and led to some incredibly tough decisions.
Thanks to all who participated, and congratulations to those members who had their images selected.
